Civil Society for Livelihood Transformation

Our Work in Machinga

Transforming lives through structured advocacy and community support

Holistic Development

CISOLT operates through five key thematic pillars designed to address the most pressing challenges faced by marginalized communities in rural Malawi.

Sustainable Livelihood

Focusing on food security and improving the socio-economic status of rural households through agricultural support and empowerment.

Child Protection

Establishing community committees to monitor and report child abuse, while actively working to end child marriage in the district.

Governance & Human Rights

Strengthening democratic values and holding duty bearers accountable to ensure citizens receive their rightful services.

SRH & HIV AIDS

Advancing access to quality Sexual Reproductive Health services and providing education to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS.

Youth & Women Empowerment

Vocational training, leadership skills, and advocacy to ensure women and youth take an active role in development.

Our Approach: PRA

We utilize Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). This methodology ensures that we don’t just bring solutions, but we work with the community to identify their own needs and resources.

By putting the power in the hands of Machinga residents, we ensure that the transformation is sustainable and locally owned.
